CTM

CTM is short for Community Trade Mark. A community trademark protects your trademark throughout the entire EU and is applied for from OHIM.

Unlike with the Swedish trademark application, KHIM does not carry out an official examination with regard to relative obstacles. This improves chances of a successful application but at the same time increases the risk that the trademark may be confused with a previous mark. Publication of a CTM is followed by an objection period of three months. If no objections are received the trademark is registered.
