Classes - in which classes should you register your trademark?
There are 45 goods and service classes used to classify goods and services for which trademarks are to be used. If protection is to be appropriate it is important to define the goods and services for which the trademark is to be used.
When this is known it is possible to class the goods and services according to Nice classification. This international list of classes comprises 34 classes of goods and 11 classes of services.
It is extremely important to register a trademark for the goods and services for which it will actually be used if you are to make use of a registration and use it to combat any unauthorised use. If a trademark is registered for goods and services for which it is not used you may risk having it annulled because it has not been put to good use.
